I started the blog to work on issues in physics & math– but life took a turn–and I joined Hike for Discovery. It’s taking me places & out of my comfort zone, forcing me to interact–err ask for help. It’s a challenge– Right now I have to figure out if I’m committed. That’s me, at the bottom of the hill, having trouble negotiating level ground. For more, check out:http://sopheetsa.org. In another moment from our annual scientific retreat, “futurist” Joe Flower, of Imagine What If Inc, spoke about the “end of research as we know it” as part of the phenomenom of what he called a global “Wikipediazation” of research: Wikepedia, the most comprehensive encyclopedia out there—is written by its users—as part of the open source movement.
In the same vein, he mentioned online journals, worldwide efforts such as the human genome project, and — the BLOGOSPHERE.
